About OVSRCSC and SEF

Science first !!!

Shri O. V. Sheth Regional Community Science Center (OVSRCSC) has been working in the field of science popularization since 1997. It was awarded a National Award on Best Effort in Science and Technology Communication in 2008 by NCSTC, Govt. of India.

The parent NGO of OVSRCSC, the Saurashtra Education Foundation (SEF) started its science mission back in 1979 on a very small scale. The center moved into present building in 1997 and was recognized as a "Regional Center" same year by Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCOST).

Shri O.V. Sheth Regional Community Science Centre, Rajkot, is a Regional level science centre working in the field of science popularization. The RCSC offers a fascinating opportunity to experience the science ideas that have totally changed our lives.

Our Mission: Expansion of Scientific Temper for holistic and sustainable development of society

The science activities included providing learning and teaching of Science to students / teachers by experiments, puzzles, games and hands on activities, popularize science amongst children and community, explain science behind miracle and superstition, motivate students for higher studies and research.

The parent organization of OVSRCSC is SEF or Saurashtra Education Foundation. The center was established by Saurashtra Education Foundation and Rajkot Municipal Corporation and is now managed and run by Saurashtra Education Foundation.

SEF is and Educational institution having Registration Certificate No. F-199 Rajkot, dated 10 Jan. 1978 under Bombay Public Trust Act, GUJ/245/Rajkot dated 10 Jan. 1978 under Societies Registration Act, 083780225 under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act and is approved under section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
